"Dann die Uraufführung, 'Grand Chef' des Katalanen Ferran Cruixent, ein Schlagwerk-Spektakel der besonderen Art. Peter Sadlo, lange Solopauker der Münchner Philharmoniker unter Celibidache, inszeniert hier eine formidable Küchenschlacht auf Bratpfannen, Töpfen und Tonnen, kurz, auf allen möglichen Koch-Gerätschaften. Nach einem fein abgeschmeckten Kling-Klang-Solo auf Weingläsern legt Sadlo erst richtig los, rührt mit den Schneebesen die Steel Drum (eigentlich Steel Pan) und lässt die Pauke nicht nur wummern, sondern auch mal im Glissando singen. Dazu das Orchester unter Ola Rudner: süffig, kulinarisch, mit treibenden Rhythmen - es kocht und brodelt, Sadlo und Philharmonie rocken die Halle! Erster Bravo-Ruf."

"Peter Sadlo, who had been solo percussionist of Munich Philharmonic under Celibidache for a long time, performed with the world premiere of "Grand Chef" by Catalan composer Ferran Cruixent an extraodinary percussion spectacle: a formidable battle in the kitchen with frying pans, pots and tons and everything that one might find in a kitchen. After a tastefully arranged "cling-clang" on wine glasses, Sadlo just got started: stirring the steel drum (or rather steel pan) with an eggbeater and makes the timpani not only drum, but also sing a glissando. The orchestra under Ola Rudner: with forthgoing rhythms it's bubbling and boiling. Sadlo and the orchestra are rocking the hall."
